Groovy Dry Bar

Anytime a person bring up adding funk into the mix I am ALL ears. The client specifically wanted this moment in the residence to be very unique… so I set about thinking through all of my craziest ideas knowing that there was a certain level of refinement that would have to be present to stand up to the surrounding very simple millwork. Ultimately what I conceived of was curved, profiled and studded— bringing plenty of personality.

Below you’ll find a series of sketches that I went through to figure out how to Make this object possible. I conceived of it, provided iterations to present to the client, engineered the shaped profile to be cut with our tooling on the CNCs, 3D modeled it in Fusion 360, and rendered it— and that was just to get it approved for manufacturing. As you view the rest of my portfolio you can imagine each of the many complex pieces involving this level of development. Oh and the best part was that I engineered it so it was really easy to install!
