Hampton Beach House
The homeowners for this project were really ambitious— I was given free rein to prepare for the project as I saw fit. The style of the home was shooting for a Hamptons beach house vibe. They wanted it to feel casual, cozy and functional. Below you’ll see some of the inspiration and research I did to express my take on their Hamptons beach house concept. I fondly recall them leaving that meeting feeling really enthusiastic about the project.
Below I also included a bunch of drawings I created for our meetings— you’ll notice none of them came to fruition. Ultimately, the homeowners experienced some budgetary adjustments and we went with more simplified versions of many concepts in the end. They ended up going with an architectural wrap along with my compound miter concept on the island face. They also bit on my powder bath idea, although a paired down version and they eventually added slatting to several spots throughout the house, per my suggestion. This home was featured in the 2021 Artisan Home Tour.
